Johnson has been pretty good this year, but he needs to be much better tonight than he was against Tampa. Take these two in regulation from PIT and the isles are in 1st. Haven't been able to write that around thanksgiving in over a decade. |

Hopefully Johnson is a lot sharper than last time. |

Surprised Johnson gets the start in net but if they play good defense and keep the turnovers in their own end to a very small number it probably doesn't matter. This weekend will show us where we are... |

Like the lines and pairings. Nice to have capuano doing the right thing. Figured halak would get the home game. - Cptmjl
For sure, solid lineup...I'm more on board with Clutterbuck on the 4th line and PK.....the depth makes such a huge difference. Wonder if Lee gets replaced with Grabner on his return?? |

It's going to be a damn hard decision, that's for sure. |

Arthur staple said, he doesn't think Lee will be replaced by grabner. So who knows where grabs will fit in. |

The exact quote was "Lee only has two goals in 11 games since being recalled, but Capuano seemed to indicate Lee isn't going anywhere, even though Grabner skated some drills on the Lee-Strome-Brock Nelson line Monday" |

FYI, I know she may not be the most reliable source but Shannon Hogan tweeted "Some juggling with the lines. Here is what to expect tonight for the #isles" and then a picture of the following line combos:
29-91-86
84-51-21
27-18-12
17-53-15

Interesting... |

That's how they finished last game so I'm not surprised, even though I'm not big on splitting up KO/JT |

Any idea how close Grabner is to returning?
With the Isles doing well without him all season, is it possible that he could be packaged and traded? He's been slowly regressing since his sophomore year. Sure he's fast and I love the player but he can't seem to bury his chances and his return could potentially ruin what mojo they have right now.
Thoughts? |

He could be part of a deal, but at the same time he is such a good penalty killer and they miss that. Nobody is expecting him to score 30 goals again but there is no problem with him getting 15-20 every season either |

They need to stay out of the box and crash the net. They do that they take this game. |

No reason the Islanders should fear any team now, they have the talent to stand toe to toe with anyone! - BobTrost
It's not about fear. The Penguins are a better team then the Isles and when you factor in the backup playing against them on the road it gets even tougher and that's why I said I would be happy if they came out with at least 1 point tonight. Just because I say that doesn't mean I don't think they can win either |

KO looked good on that line and he def has some chemistry with nielsen. First line looked pretty good after the change too. I dont mind it for a game maybe it'll light a fire with okposo. At least clutter isnt on the second line |
